Summer is the perfect time to experiment with trying new recipes and foods. Today, my sister and I decided to make some really yummy chocolate banana bread. It came out to be super delicious and actually quite easy to make, so read on for the recipe!
½ cup butter
½ cup sugar
3 bananas (best if they're ripe!)
½ teaspoon. salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 cups flour
1 cup chocolate chips
Step one: Preheat your oven to 350F
Step two: Cream the butter and sugar. Mash the bananas with a fork and add them to the mixture until they're mixed well and mostly mashed. Add the eggs and mix it all together.
Step three: Add the salt, baking soda, and baking powder and mix well. Add the cocoa powder and mix together.
Step four: Add flour and mix until combined. I found it easier to gradually add the flour and mix.
Step five: Fold in the chocolate chips.
Step six: Pour into a greased loaf pan. I like to add some chocolate chips on the top for decoration. Bake at 350F for about 60 minutes. Be sure to let it cool before slicing.
The whole process of making the bread is faster than you think. It's all pouring ingredients into a bowl, and mixing it up, nothing too difficult. The bread comes out super delicious and sweet, yet not too overpowering on the chocolate. I also love adding walnuts as well, the crunchiness of walnuts is great.
