After an entire year of missing home, days spent packing my suitcase, and 24 hours straight of nonstop travel, I am (finally!) back home.
For me, the highlight of every summer is leaving Abu Dhabi and visiting home- the East Coast of the USA. I am ecstatic to be here, my summer travels have commenced. This summer includes time spent in upstate NY with family, a summer college program at the prestigious, Colgate University, and a couple weeks spent in Italy with my family. Expect lots of fun filled posts in the future about what I've been up to this summer.
There are too many little things I've missed about the states- from the feeling of the fresh grass on my feet, to the summer showers which I seldom see in the dry deserts of Abu Dhabi. I've missed my family endlessly of course, and I'm thrilled to be reunited with them again. To be quite honest, I couldn't be happier.
As much as I'd like to stay away from studying this summer after such a rigorous year, the summertime is a perfect opportunity to prepare for next year in a more relaxed manner. Like I mentioned before, I'll be attending 3 week summer SAT prep course at Colgate University. Along with that, I've also been preparing for a few of my IB courses next year and reading in my free time. Productivity in the summer feels so accomplishing, and I definitley recommend that you make some time aside from your summer adventures to be productive.
Although I have a month until I go to Italy, I couldn't be more excited to immerse myself in the culture. We'll be spending a few days in Rome, and then make our way down to the southern coast. Everything from the food, fashion, music, and history of Italy is fascinating, and I can't wait to experience it all.
Hope you all enjoyed this little life update, comment below what you're doing this summer :)
